a brief history lesson

A little about me….Where shall I start? Perhaps at the beginning? Nah. Let’s start at age 17, when I met the love of my life. You could say it was love at first sight through the kitchen window….of The Red Robin in Folsom, California (glamorous, eh?). I was an expo (for all you non-restaurant folk, that’s the person who goes between “front of house” and “back of house” or “the kitchen” and “the dining room” if you will) and he was a cook. We had mutual friends and one day I asked one of them to ask him if he thoughts I was cute…lucky for me, he did and the rest, as they say, is history. That was back in 1997, fast forward to 2000 and…dum dum dum dum…wedding bells were ringing. We’ve spent the last 17 years of wedded bliss building our careers, traveling the world, forging amazing friendships and refining our love of food and wine. Our lives felt as perfect as they could possibly be. Truly! Then, on November 28, 2015 (my birthday), at Hawks Restaurant in Granite Bay, California, over a bottle of #AlphaOmega Cabernet, we decided that we should turn our perfect party of two into an even more perfect party of three. But first, one last trip to Europe (more on that trip later, I promise). And then some fertility issues (again, more on that later). And then on July 30, 2016, voila…a big ol’ positive pregnancy test. Well, positives on three pregnancy tests to be exact (one can never be too sure, right???). The next 9+ months were spent doing more career building, traveling, eating and drinking….water, blah! Then on April 2, 2017 at 12:34am our perfect little angel made her grand appearance and we all lively happily ever after. The end. Actually, this is just the beginning of Delicately Balancing Life. The life we spent 20 years building is a little more complicated now, but we wouldn’t have it any other way.

Actually. it wasn’t the end at all….it is just the beginning of Delicately Balancing Life. The life we spent 20 years building is a little more complicated now, but we wouldn’t have it any other way. Thanks for reading my blog and following along as I figure out how to navigate this new life and keep it all in
